Air filter

I am cuurently drawing in air to my skimmer from outside. Does anybody know of a good air filter that I can use on the end? Maybe one with carbon ??? I also am running a gravity feed for my top off. I am in need of a air filter for that as well for the vent.

Any suggestions on products and where to get them?

Why are you drawing air in from outside?

My PH is a little low and I am trying to bump it up a little with some fresh air.

I made a filter out of an old gravel vacuum stuffed with some poly batting, attached it to the end of my intake hose, and voila.

I didn't realize just how much dirt the intake was pulling in until I hooked up the filter!

good idea KevinM.
I've been doing this for almost two years now, it has raised my PH about 0.10, mostly in the winter when the house is closed up, I have a 1" PVC pipe coming in from outside, it supplies my skimmer and both durso's, all i use are some filter sponge shoved in the tube outside.
