Air pump/diffuser cure lower nightime ph

This is probably going to seem like a crazy question but I have been wondering about this all day. I have always had kind of low ph due to an older sealed up house. I run at around 8.04 during the day and 7.76 at night according to my RK2 which was calibrated recently. I run a reverse lighting cycle on my fuge that seems to help the swings and I have never had a problem running at those ph levels.
My question is this: If I add an air pump and diffuser and have it run during lights out, will that help even further with ph drops at night?
You are probably wondering why I havent just added one and checked. I dont own one. I havent in years. I guess I could just go buy one, but I really dont need one unless this theory works.
Anybody ever tried this and did it make a difference?
Thanks in advance :)

on a 10g tank it would prolly help but it would take a heck of allot of air bubbling on a large system to make any noticeable difference and you could accomplish the same thing but directing a power head up to agitate the surface of the water and get allot less salt creep out of it :)

Your skimmer should help. If not, try running the air intake from outside. I do this, and my pH jumps up a good .3-.4 on the scale.

Could try better fuge/sump lighting and more algea in the sump. The point in reverse lighting is to keep the plants producing oxygen and as a bi-product raising PH. Careful on your algea selection. Some cause yellowing of aquarium water,

Hnhnmeister, what kind of filter do you have on your outside skimmer intake? do you worry about airborne pesticides, or fertilizers, getting in? I'm thinking of doing this same thing, but I would have to run the air line approximately 20 ft. (up in the attic, and down under the eve)

Would you consider dripping kalk? A little goes a long way. I topoff with kalk at night (ACjr helps with this). My PH stays between 8.1-8.3.

Mt intake isnt filtered, but it is 15 ft. above the ground.
