Air Pump/Model Recommendation?

Hi All,

I have been running a Tetra Deepwater 96 airpump for the last 10 or so months on my phyto/rotifer culturing system and the output is severely reduced the last day or so. I am assuming the diaphram may be stretched or damaged. I posted this question in the equipment forum a few days ago and got very few views and no posts. I figured we here are all using air pumps on a routine basis and figured you guys would have a good suggestion.

What brand air pumps do you guys recommend that last for a long time? I am looking to replace the one on my culture station, then also add in aerators to all my broodstock and get another for the larval station.

Let me know your opinions/suggestions.

Thanks!

Luft Pump...I have one running 12 2L bottles of Phyto...good with pressure, and adjustable too. One of the ones I'm running is 7 years old, maybe even more.

Of course, if everything will ultimately have air, a blower might be in order (but that's a "big time" step)

FWIW,

Matt

BTW, I actually thought about it some more, my first luft pump is probably 12 years old, and I"ve never had to change the diaphram. Granted, It was probably not being used for half that time, but in a nutshell it's a TANK of an airpump.

FWIW,

Matt

I did a replacement kit before using it for my algae cultures cuase I had used it to drive a skimmer for 5 years or so.

May be worth another try.

Hagen's Optima and Maxima have proved themselves reliable to me. Use them pretty much exclusively, parts are cheap too.
