air water ice - what model

I am trying to figure the difference between these two models. I can see as far as the ro/di filtering they are identical so its all about the accessories. So what does one come with that the other does not? There web site is very - very confusing. And I read product specks all day long and teach others about them. If I cant figure it out well...I hope you know.

Here are the two models I am looking at:
TYPHOON III AQUARIUM RO DI $189
Typhoon 5 stage RODI $149

I got the Typhoon III and am satisfied with it. Its been over a year and I have yet to change the filters. After ro/di I am still reading zero TDS.

I believe that the Typhoon III has the additional features of a fast flush valve, a DI bypass and a RO only valve. In addition, I think you get a TDS/Temperature Meter too.

Typhoon 3 here as well. Almost 2.5 years, and all I've ever changed are the carbon prefilters. Still using the original membrane and DI resin (~1/2 gone), and it provides 0tds output.

typhoon 3 for me as well. I have had it for about a year and still have 0 tds...I only use it for ATO water though, for water changes I buy my water.

Thanx all.

What are these and why would I want them?
fast flush valve
DI bypass
RO only valve
Good question. I don't have them on my compact reefkeeper and can honestly say that I don't miss them. Give AWI a call. They've always answered the phone and been extremely helpful. Call today, have you order delivered tomorrow for no additional cost.

They have a phone? I have never seen a number listed for them.

lpsluver, I guess then it begs the question. Do I need a tds meter? Because the difference would be:

TYPHOON III AQUARIUM RO DI $189
Typhoon 5 stage RODI $149 + TDS Meter $20 = $169

$20 more for those extra features. Can anyone say why I would want these?

Fast Flush, helps you save on media by flushing the system without using the DI if I remember properly. The Di bypass is probably the same as the RO only. This is if you wanted to make drinking water etc...

I'd say get the TDS meter. Then you replace your filters based on an unacceptable rise in TDS rather than doing it on a periodic basis. Their number is 1-772-461-0256.
