Fellow reefers,

What has been your experience with Akron area LFS's? Two Turtles, Wet Pets, Aquatic Interiors, etc... I'd like to find a reputable LFS to visit once in a while.

All three are ok. Aquatic Interior doesn't post the prices on anything. There is a discounts on his web site that many people don't know about. Don't tell him you have any of the coupons untill you are ready to give him money. I have bought fish from all three stores. They aren't great but not too shabby for akron.

Some of the Staff at Wet Pets are kinda rude if u ask me.. Two Turtles lately hasn't had any good stock in everytime i call their shipment is pushed back and ive never been to AI.. its kinda crazy but i drive to Salty Critter.. only takes me about 1hr and 15min. each way lol.. and 2.10 on the turn pike round trip.. though the last time i was at SC a few of their fish weren't doing so hot.. they had a large yellow tang that had some kinda bacteria looking stuff comming off his fin and it looked like he was in a fight.. i know you can't have a store full of healthy fish but really who would buy something like that? at least take it to a qt tank or something.. just my opinion

Those stores are fine to do some "window shopping". You will find better 'high end' reef items on-line, IMO, and you dont have to deal with 12 year old local fish store employees
