alarm on pump

hello, i have a pair of 6100's well one is a 6100 the other is an electronic turbelle with a drive from a 6100. That is the pump I'm having a problem with, it ran fine for about 4 months and now the alarm intermittently goes off. I just replaced the drive thinking it might have been faulty as it had some groves in the bearings, but about 20 minutes after starting the alarm stated going off again. I think I need to replace the driver unit, but my driver is an 7240.26 and the only replacement on the tunze site is for 7240.27. I've looked in the drive and cannot see any defective components or I’d just replace the individual part. Any help you could give on this would be great.

thanks, Justin

When you replaced the drive unit, did you replace all the parts, including the upper bearing and bearing bush? If not, this is a possible culprit. The 7240.270 is a direct replacement for the 7240.260, it will work with your pump. The other possible culprit is the driver, older 7240.260 drivers were hand made and tuned to the individual pump, sometimes they don't work well when converted to the Stream style pump. Yet another possibility, if you are not using the 6080.130 shroud and have an exposed prop, the pump will draw more power and this could also sound the alarm intermittently, especially with an older 7240.260 driver. If the pump was made before 2003 you likely have a hand tuned driver.
