Hello Everyone!
As a Student in college I'm currently taking a hiatus from the hobby. So in an attempt to satiate my lack of fish tank, I am planning an in-depth virtual build. (I am modeling everything in 3D!) Having only been in the hobby a few years I want this to be as much of a learning experience as possible in tank construction. So I appreciate as much feedback as I can get!
So far specs are rough, but i'd like to try designing a larger main display system. My goal is a mixed SPS and Lps heavy reef. My first tank was LPS and soft coral dominant system. Now years later I feel more confident in being able to create something more ambitious. But there is always room to improve and learn! Which is why I need your experience, incite, and help!!!!
Display: 90 gallon
x2 custom cubes: 18x18x16 (For the refugium and water change container)
Sump: standard 40 gallon long
Filtration: Sump style filtration
Overflow: Going with a BeanAnimal overflow.
Refugium: I want to stress the construction of a safe habitat for microfauna to populate and then safely re-enter the main display to help feed whatever I choose to house within this system.
Circulation: Lots and lots of random flow. Potentially some sort of controller for the power heads.
Misc: I have plans for expanding on the model shown below to include a water mixing station and more!

In the short while I've been here at reef central I have mostly lurked, reading and trying to absorb as much as I can. Also apologies for any image compression, i'll post some higher quality videos if need be.
Moving on, let's get to the good stuff. . .

So here's the front shot of the entire system. The front cabinetry and glass has been removed for the sake of viewing. I may or may not add it back later.

And the back, with the jumble of plumbing I need help on. I lack experience in creating efficient drain and return lines that don't block or slow flow. So sorry if anything looks ridiculous or crazy.
This build is all about efficiency, I want this system to require as few pumps as possible, and use as little electricity as possible (LED's LED's LED's).

Stay tuned for some more indepth outlines of the build so far!

Very nice, but since this is the Large Tank forum you need to double the size of your display tank to at least 180 gallons. Upsize everything else in your set-up accordingly.

Also, you should talk to Matt (d3hree) here who does this sort of art professionally (see his thread here).
