Albuquerque Trip ***********

Today im gonna go with my girl up to albuquerque. Gonna hit up the aquarium up there since i havent been. Also might hit up that one shop people tell me is pretty sweet. Let me know which one it is please ????

Its my b day trip and will be one of my first without alcohol. last years was a debacle (long story). Thanks guys, I had a blast, the aquarium was way better than i thought it was gonna be, and i visited with Rob at southwest reef company, very impressive store for sure. i took some pics and i will post them up tomorrow.

Looking back on the trip, i do got to say i was very impressed, the major thing lacking though is corals for sure. But i knew that going in. Still highly recommend.

Took a few pics at Southwest Reef Companys store, i should have taken more. This store is badA$$, no offense to our stores here, but this one is bigger and fully stocked, and Rob seems like a cool guy, has had the store for 10-15 years and been in pet supplies someway or another for another 10.

NICE, reminds me of stores in VA...I love stores like that...nothing around here will ever compete with that.

How were the prices? Do they have a broader selection or just more of the same stuff? Did you buy anything?

huge selection way broader than what i have seen. I didnt look at prices much though, also i didnt take pics of the drygoods part. they have sumps and skimmers and lights and ecotech stuff all in stock. I should have just done a video but didnt want to seem to pushy. I bought some redsea test kit stuff. Also in stock. It really is the way a store should be.

How far away is the aquarium from el paso?

Probably 3-4 hour drive. The zoo is right next to it. Nice Zoo, too

did 3 and a half hours or less from west el paso. Not bad at all, just seems longer on the way back. lol

My wife and I are going to go up to Albuquerque Aquarium on the 16th and check it out. Gotta stop by the LFS too.

Well, the wife and I took the trip up to ABQ over the weekend and saw the City Aquarium. Pleasantly surprised. Pretty nice. The tank with sharks was really cool. We stopped at the Saltwater store Pedro mentioned before. Probably the nicest and largest and nicest LFS I have seen personally. Spoke with owner who seemed cool enough. I could only wish we had a place like that in El Paso.
