Algae advice and ID

I have always had a small amount of this algae and never really paid it much attention, until this morning when I looked at the tank and realized two of my largest rocks are almost completely covered in it. Any one have any idea what kind it is and what usually causes it (other then excess phosphates)?
Lights are LED, I have refugium and large skimmer. Just recently added a carbon and GFO reactor and used eggcrate to stand the reactors on. Could the Eggcrate be leaching enough silicates to feed an algae bloom like this?

I have told that it's actually a type of Dinoflagellate. Also that the use of egg crate seems to be somehow connected, leaching silicate perhaps. Hopefully someone can clarify that.

What I do know is that you can transfer the problem from one tank to another. Removing the egg crate did not resolve the issue. Unfortunately I have known hobbyist that were unable to resolve the problem.

First off, Thank you very much for your input!, and yes I actually have seen Chrysophytes and have read a lot about it. In real life it actually looks extremely similar to all the pictures Ive seen of it here. My problem is, Im not that confident in identifying algae and I was hoping for more input on what others, like you, thought it could be. From what ive read Chrysophytes feed directly on silicates, my problem is whether or not the chrysophytes will die after the eggcrate has "cured". Thank you again for letting me know what you think it is.

You're welcome, and I do really hope you are able to get rid of it. There is little to no information on it, well helpful information.
