algae? best way to get rid

Is there anything I could buy, like snails or crabs that prefer algae. I'm starting to get green hair algae and I don't want it to take over my tank.
Should I do more weekly water changes?

Thanks for the help!

definitely get a clean up crew. go to liveaquaria.com and see what clean up crew packages they and other sites have....
some will clean up detritus (waste) and some will eat up algea.
look into some turbo snails (trochus)

Cleanup crews are the band-aid fix, too much detail to discuss and the topic has been covered over and over, but search on alage control and fix the root cause! Nitrates, phosphates, etc. Foretunately, I never have any nuicience algae for my cleanup crew to eat!

There are several clean up critters that will help, but excess nutrients are usually the culprit. More water changes would help assuming your water change water is pure.

Water is pure. I do not have a phosphate test kit so i'm not sure what my level is on that.

Hoping the clean up crew helps and the water changes. If it doesn't get better within a week. Then i'll fork of the money and buy a phosphate kit.

thanks
