algae blenny

is your tank very large and have aggressive fish? maybe he's still acclimating to your tank. give him time, he'll come out. if you see "bite marks" on the glass, it means he's still alive. :)

My sailfin blenny was quite happy in my 75 gallon DT but now that he is in QT with all my other fish he spends most of his time in the PVC. I don't think he enjoys being in such close proximity to everyone else. I believe that yours will settle in nicely and before long become one of your favorite fish...I just hope you don't have to turn around and put him into QT like I did!

Be careful with lawnmower blennies. They live up to their name and mow down your algae....problem is they are too good at their job and they can sometimes get so picky that they only will eat algae and essentially starve themselves

That's what happened with mine, except my problem was I have a low nutrient system with little to no algae. He wouldn't eat anything I tried to feed and of course died.

Bought a starry blenny and he is a complete pig, along with being one of the funniest critters in my DT

yeah i did see little bit marks on the algae on the back of the glass still can't see him though. iv'e only got 9 chromis with him at the mo. tank is 176g so lots of live rock where hes hiding.nice rottie by the way phiyther mines 8 now and getting a bit grey under the chin

All my Lawnmower blennies as soon as they went in the tank they started eating right away never had any trouble enticing them to eat or show themselves hell my second Blennie used to perch on my hand within a month of getting into the tank and even liked to be "petted"
