Algae Bloom???

My tank has been set up for quite some time now and all of a sudden I am getting hit with an algae outbreak. It is even starting to grow on a toodstool leather and finger leather. Any ideas on what tests I should be looking at besides Nitrite and Nitrates? Can you recommend test kits as well? The TDS out of my RO is 0.

I wouldn't bother with test kits because rampant algal growth is the best "test".
I'd rule out water temp and (possibly) lighting as the culprit. Speaking of lighting... what is yours?

What are your nitrates at?
Do you run GFO or any other PO4 adsorber?
What's your S.G. and do you run a skimmer?
What herbivores do you have?
Got a lit refugium to grow macroalgae?

We all fight nuisance algae growth every day. It never ends.
