Update. I have found a method that seems to keep my cyano to a minimum. Every 4 weeks I do the "lights out" treatment. I make sure i do water change and siphon detritus from sand bed the first day lights are back on. I siphon any new breakouts when they pop up and consistently turkey baste the rocks. It has been tedious but it seems to be the trick. I haven't changed anything in regards to tank feeding, water changes, etc. Really seems to have knocked it down significantly. thanks for the info.
