I have recently restarted my tank two months ago due to the dreaded bubble algae that got hold of my tank. I expected some algae growth which started 3 weeks after.I then added some carbon to help eleviate the growth. But,I still had growth after three weeks. So I decided to add some gfo mixed with carbon and noticed even more growth 4-5days later. What is gong on? My po4 is .12ppm

Sounds like your tank is going through the cycle. It should work itself out over time without resorting to exteral additives. Patience is the key. You can add some livestock to mow down the nuisance algae if necessary. Blennies are good....

I was told by BRS that the iron in the GFO is insoluable therefore will not fuel algae growth ; I was surprised te know that.Anyway my po4 has went down to .07 from.12 so will see how that developes .
Thanks
