Algae ID Please!

Hi I've picked up a second hand nano cube 24 with water and all. (wanted to start from scratch but it came with a clown which I couldn't give away!

I've been trying to normalise it over the last few months. Was wondering if anyone could ID some of this stuff and give suggestions whether its bad/will naturally go away or need to be manually removed

I've just added a Tunze 9001 skimmer in the middle compartment and have started dosing 1.5ml of NoPoX.

I change around 5g per week atm and have two clowns in there.

Thanks

Looks like you got a couple things going on..

In the first picture you are showing some type of sponge (green/yellowish), and then there is cyanobacteria around that..

In the second picture you are showing a similar sponge on the bottom side of your rock, and above the sponge it appears that you have red bubble algae.

In the final picture it looks like you got a case of cyanobacteria.

Increase your flow, decrease your phosphates, reduce any possible direct/indirect sunlight... and possible add red slime remover.. These steps should help with the cyanobacteria

Thanks very much for the reply Finz,

Are the sponges bad?

I've currently got my power head directed straight at one of the rocks so i'll adjust it so it points more out into the clear space in the tank.

Can I add red slime remover in conjunction with NoPox? (which is what i'm using as a phosphate reducer.

I've got my lights on for around 10 hours, should I reduce that to 6-7-8?
