I have a red algae that has grown in my tank for years. I have not had much luck in getting a positive ID on it. It will grow very dense, you can pull handfuls of it off the rock if it's left to grow for weeks/months.
I'm also hoping someone knows of something that will consume this algae. I've tried several different inverts with little to no effect. I've tried a lawnmower blenny, coral beauty, and an argi angel in with this algae over the years and no luck with those.
