there are some pics below. the algae started growing on a piece of Fiji LR to start with, closely resembling a very small tree, but was kinda brittle and my emerald crab loved to pick at it, till one day it broke off and floated to the top of the tank. since then it has been growing in the 360 degree pattern as pictured. its now kinda soft and spongy, easily broken into new balls. as you can see it looks like a ball of filter floss once broken open. there are about 9 or 10 balls of this stuff around my tank now now ranging in size from golf balls to tennis balls plus my HOB filter is COATED with it. i was just wondering what exactly it is before i try and sell it/trade it to people. also for whatever reason other algae love to attach to these balls so they become a floating ball of 2 or 3 different macro algae.
