Algae ID

I'm trying to figure out what type of algae this is. I can blow it off of the rocks and sand by moving the powerheads. When it's in the water column it's stringy. It kind of reminds me of cyano. It covers everything again in one day.
I had a ton of acetabularia that was doing great but the naso ate the caps off when she was added. I'm sure the stems are breaking down and fueling the current algea. I'm keeping up with waterchanges and gfo.

It does look alot like dinos, but you're right about the bubbles not being there...
But I've also seen them without bubbles.... if it's like snot, lack for a better word,I doubt its a true algae

I had stuff that looked exactly like yours. Mine was cyano. Because it was brown I thought it was diatoms. When I turned off my blue lights it had the more classic cyano color. Min also went away at night and started coming back as soon as the lights came on in the morning. Thorough cleaning of my sand bed and chemiclean (2 doses) got rid of it and it hasn't come back.

vacuum your sandbed. a lot. i am going through some cyano now, and i am vacuuming the sand once a week. i should do more, but i dont have time. try once a day to get rid of it, and lower your lighting period. go to about 3 hours a day. hope this helps

I've been stirring it up every other day before i change filter socks and vacuuming it weekly. That's about all I can do for now. I'm working 6-10s. I may try chemiclean this week and see if it helps. I've had great success with it before with red cyano.
