Algae ID?

Hey guys, I'm new to the hobby and have some pretty gnarly algae bloom. Im slightly worried it's dino but a film has also formed and it doesn't look like a dino infection I've seen in another tank.. Any help on ID and advice on eliminating it?

As you are newbie you need to use the "attach" feature for images for now as the board software is blocking your external link to protect us sheltered users

That is a very common "algae?" but so far I haven't been able to get a positive/proven identification on it..
It may be diatoms, it could just be a short hair hair algae of some sorts, it could even be a type of cyano (lyngbya).. But so far I haven't seen anyone really positively ID it with any certainty..

Typical clean up crew creatures usually take care of it though and it can/will go away in time.. I have gotten it in all my tanks for the first few months then it seems to just go away.. Urchins, most algae eating snails, bristletooth tangs,etc.. love it

Gonna need a bit more than that...the bb snails eat detritus,etc.. and for the most part hermits aren't big algae consumers either..
The Trochus snails may have a minor impact on it..

Adding some Astraea turbos would be a good idea.. One for about every 2 gallons of water should take care of your tank well ..
Or other similar decent algae eaters.. mexican turbos (no more than 1 in your tank)

But yes.. based on the amount of film and the lack of "snail trails" evident in it says you need MORE snails ;)
