WHat are your parameters? Clean all fliter socks, sponges, and pads. Scrub that stuff off with a toothbrush in a seperate bucket or water. What kind of lights did you have before and what did you change to?
Am, No2 and No3, are all zero. I still need to buy a phosphate test. Just removed a sponge in my overflow i forgot about. I had a 20 W NO 50/50 bulb ( I know ) just got a 48W HO t5 setup. I assume my scrub bucket should be SW right?
use RO water for your top offs and do reg water changes....first time you do a water change..take each rock out...one by one..scrub it with a hard bristled toothbrush , making sure to not damage any corals attached...after a few weeks of this ...possibly a month..you should win...but use RO water..dont cheat. tap water provides phosphates and silicates which inhibit hair algae growth. Also make sure your bulb is in good condition ..anything lower than 6500k usually provides excellent conditions for growing algae...as well as cut back length of time your tank light is on..if its on 10 hr..cut back to 5 for now and dont place your tank anywhere near windows as sunlight provides alternate light to algae too.
