Algae outbreak HELP!

i currently have about 8-10 snails and about 10-15 blue leg crabs... Thanks for the great input everyone

I bet you could find a handful of Astreas over on Key Biscayne if you were inclined to look. Go see what you can find around dock pilings. 10 more couldn't hurt.

Look closely at the hair algae. Is it soft? If so its probably Bryopsis which is palatable to snails. I have a tougher kind of turf algae in my tank that snails won't touch but my Orange shoulder tang and Foxface rabbitfish love it. Those fish are too big for your tank though.

How many snails would I need for a 72 gallon tank. I am getting alot of hair algae. Are the Astreas the best snails for hair algae?
