algae scrubber methods

I was wondering if there are any advantages using the dump bucket over the waterfall method algae scrubber(besides the wave created by the dump bucket).What about using a squid to pump alternating water onto the screen?Just trying to figure the best system to diy for a 108 gal half circle tank.
