I posted this in the general forum and didn't get much response, however it was suggested I try this forum.
I have these brown/black sponge looking things growing on several of my rocks, both in shade and directly under the MH's. I've posted a pic at

It doesn't look like any of the images I've seen on the web of dino or cyano. I've pulled some out and it doesn't seem to replace quickly where removed, nor is it bigger or smaller with lights on/off. It also doesn't feel slimy, but has more of a sponge type texture to it. When removed the underside attached to the rock has a whiteish color and sponge looking texture. I've gone one that's half detached that I could try and snag a picture of the detached side if that's helpful.
