Algae??

Have had an outbreak of something over the past few weeks. The tank has been set up for 1.5 years and all fish and corals appear to be fine but I am very anal when it comes to my tank and the outbreak is driving me crazy. I have never had an issue like this before.

Recent readings

Phos -.03 Changed Phosphogaurd when I noticed out break
Nitrates- 0.02 Did large water change (40 gallons) when I noticed out break.
PH- 8.2-8.3
Salinity- 1.0255
Calcium 400 ppm
Alkalinity 10 dKH

I did a 4 day lights out over the Holidays as wel

All Top-off and water changes are done with 5 stage RO/DI. The filters are over a year old but both my TDS meters read zero on out coming water.

I am thinking I need to do another LARGE water change, add new Phosphogaurd and add more blue legs (I usually have 50-75 but only have about 20 right now)

The only other thing I can think of is I had a Diamond Goby but lost it shortly before the Outbreak. Could it really have been keeping the sand that clean?

Thoughts??

I would change the RODI filters. "0 tds" can be deceiving, does not necessarily mean that your RODI water is optimal.

Test the RO coming out of RODI for phosphates and go from there. You might have phosphates in Ro even with TDS of zero.

Changed everything out

New 98% Membrane
New Chloramine filters
New Sediment filter
New Di resin

Water going in is TDS165. Water coming out of Filters and Membrane TDS 10.(higher than it was before I changed everything) Water coming out of Di TDS zero

Going to do a large water change this week, add more hermits and change out the GFO. Hopefully that will fix the issue.

Been a week since I made the changes and no sign of the Algae and I haven't even had to clean the glass yet. Looks like that fixed it. Thanks for the advice.
