I didnt think i would spend 60 bucks on a magnet. but dang that thing cleans good. i had that nasty green kusty alge on that tank and couple of passes and all gone even koraline alge too.

I've almost tossed down the money for one a few times, but.........................always found a coral that I needed more..

I'll just put it on my b-day list for my wife. I'll get it.... ;)

Steve :D

yup probably one of the best magnets out there, i've had mine for about a year now but i think the magnets are starting to get a little weaker.

What I love best about those things is its size, super small but super strong. I bought a 12 gal nano a few years ago that had on one it and I've been using it on my 90gal ever since.

Is this a glass magnet or acrylic? Or both?

Has anyone used it on acrylic? I have a magfloat, and I have to say it sucks big time! I use it to hold nori now.:D

Anyone have a link to one I can check out?

I remember using my magfloat once early in the morning before my lights were on, and i had a granual of sand stuck on the scrubbing side...when I got home and the lights were on, whole tank was scratched.:mad2:

Yes, they are awesome aren't they Sang. So much so I started a thread about them as well a few weeks back. Cleaning my tanks have never been easier, especially with the Easy Blade holder attached for easy removal of coraline algae and really tough-to-remove dark green algae.

Give it a try. It's the best bang-for-the-buck $12 investment (as well as the magnet cleaner) I've ever made in this hobby.

I think the grain of sand problem could happen with any cleaner..

Anyone have any opinions on the nimble cleaner?

I have the regular nimble and the super nimble. Both are awesome. The nimble goes where the hammerhead can't.

Hammerhead is awesome

When I had glass, I used a really cheap ($15?) magnetic cleaner that had a plastic clip-on algae scraper. It was a blocky blue one that had a curved edges for going around the tank corners. With the scraper on, it could remove even caked on coraline in a few passes.

With acrylic now, I am using magfloats, and they do suck. Looking for a better solution. Since acrylic scratches so easily, I guess the cleaning surfaces can't be as aggressive as a glass magnet.

there is another pad for acrylic too. but i have a glass tank so i just use the glass stuff and it come with replacememnt. gisho after kenny and i read your post and garrick and justin vouch for them i was sold. hahahahaha.
