I have this red algae growing all over my tank! I have been fighting with it for about a year and cannot figure out how to eliminate it. Someone please help me id this and let me know if anything will eat it. Click on gallery link to view pics of the algae.

From what i see, i like it.
It doesn't look very hard to get rid of, but i might be wrong.
I would suggest simply removing it when you see it, just like bubble algae. It looks like your algae can be easily removed.
Since it looks similiar in shape and texture to bubble algae, an emerald crab might taste it. Have you tried one?

jddaniel,

My money is that it is a Rhodymenialean red algae (family Rhodomeniaceae). Try looking up Botryocladia, Chrysymenia, and Erythrocolon. Nothing in any of my books or keys matches the pictures in your gallery, unfortuantely. Did this algae come in on live rock? If so, where was that rock from?

I will take a look at those, the algae showed up on LR purchased from PremiumAquatics. It started out as just a few clusters fairly small. Over the last year it has now over run most of the live rock. Nothing seems to touch it that I have tried in there. Lawnmower Blenny, Yellow tang picked at it somewhat, crabs I've never seen eat it.

Yes, it was fiji rock. I looked up Botryocladia I am 100% sure that's what it is. Thanks for your help, what will keep this under control or even eliminate it from my display. Any ideas are much appretiated.
