Man the only creature which seems to feed on hydoids is this nudibranch http://www.divegallery.com/pianthin.htm

Is this the right way to preceed getting rid of it? I can pass along the nudi once its food supply has ran out, correct?

Hello,

if you have it on (not to much) stones and you can remove them, thats the best. You can then scratch them off the stones.

Or you can try to cover them in the tank - if no light, they should disapear
