these numbers come straight from my ro unit!! it is a cheap 3 stage unit that came with the house when I bought it. The filters were just replaced last week. The source water is coming from a well. Will adding a DI stage fix this and make it 0?

Something is bad wrong. If the tap water is really that hard then you shouldn't be able to take a shower without clogging up the shower head. I'd be checking that out with another test kit.

That's what I thought. I tested the ALK in my tank multiple times and it come in at 10dkh every time. That's higher than I want so I started trouble shooting and checked my RO unit. I guess I'll try with a different test kit and possibly by a new RO/DI

I would get a better kit, API isn't the greatest. FWIW I live in limestone country, growing up we had a well, it did clog shower heads every 6-8 months. The main line from the well pump had a gate valve on it with a bad stem packing, if you turned the valve off and back on, it would leak from around the stem but would seal itself back up in a couple days, just from the buildup. It is possible that your alk is that high but your ro/di should be removing that so I would also double check to make sure the membrane is seated properly.
