Alk too high, best way to lower?

I've been using Kent's Tech C-B two part additive once a week and have been testing Cal & Alk. The Cal is 350ppm the day before I add and then its 450ppm after I add and the Alk is 8meg/L all the time (I bought a new Alk test kit and found the unbalance). I know that part-A is the Cal and part-B is the Alk so I started adding 3-parts Cal to 1-part Alk once a week instead of 50/50.

Should I quit adding the Alk part-B and add the Cal part-A like every other day until I get them balanced or go with something else?

I've been doing regular water changes (10-20%) every 2-3 weeks and adding the two part Alk-Cal additives 50/50 per their instructions. My test kit I had for Alk wasn't accurate (didn't have the same color as when new) and I bought a Salifert kit and seen that the Alk was too high. I've started adding only the Cal now and not the Alk along with a water change this past weekend and will continue until I get them balanced. I was only adding the two-part once per week but now I'm going to try and maintain Cal at 420ppm and Alk at 4meg/L when it gets back down (by testing and adding additives more often and as needed until I figure out how much I need to add per day, every other day or per week).

Sounds good!

Good luck. :)
