Alkalinity consumption by coraline?

My coraline algae is getting out of hand. Growing like it was hair algae, and I dont know why. No parameters are out.

However I do notice, that I have to use your recipe (randy) daily and large amounts in order to keep up, especially with alkalinity.

Does coraline have anything to do with it. Otherwise I dont have an especially huge population of corals, to consume this much calcium and alkalinity. Its a 90 g tank and Im putting in 3/4 cup's for both each day.

It seems if I scrape the coraline, it just grows even faster.

Coralline does use a lot of calcium and alkalinity (and magnesium). In some tanks, it may be the biggest part of the demand. Rapid coralline growth is a good sign, and not something that can be readily decreased without decreasing the calcification by corals. :)

Is there any means of controlling it somewhat. Its covering absolutly everything and I have to scrape my front display almost daily.
