There's also a couple of bad batches of Salifert ALK tests; they're reading high. Check the Salifert sponsor forum, they list the batches affected there.

dude i had the same issue,

my animals looked great...but alk was off the charts...so i by a lamotte alk kit and its telling me my stuff is at 10dkh wich is much better.

I think people are having a lot more problems with the Salifert Alk tests then just the batches mentioned.

It's also unlikely that the Ca would be holding at 430 if the alk was holding at 18dkh.

The few times that i've got mine that far out of whack the lower number was continually dropping.
