alkalinity?

My alkalinity is at 15 dkh, is that too high? I do not have any coral in the tank, but would like too get some. I have been doing more water changes, and hoped it would go down but it has stay the same for about an week. What should i do? The tank is an 30 gal w/ live rock, just have 1 clown, and a yellow wrasses. ph 8.4, cal. 310

That is a bit high. I'd allow it to drift down on its own.

Do you know how it got high? Adding anything at all? Tap water?

YES, I WAS USING TAP WATER.
I GOT A 4 STAGE RO/DI ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO.

Do you know if the alkalinity is high because there is a lot of it in the tap water, or did it get high some other way?

It was high bacause of the tap water, but now i'm using ro/di water. I have been useing it for about 2 week and have done 4 or 5, 20% water changes. Should i do an bigger water change, or keep doing the 20% water change ever few days?

I wouldn't do water changes except as part of routine water changing. . I'd just let it drift down. have you measured the alkalinity in your new salt water?

yes, it's at around 3 dkh

New salt water, or tap water? That is very low for new salt water.
