Alkalinity

How is the best way to keep alkalinity stable? I've been using Reef Builder by Seachem almost every day to keep the alkalinity normal.

I personally use a two part, but I have to does each part every day. I try to do it at the same time each day.

I am looking into getting a dosing pump, but that is down the road a bit.

Alkalinity is not used by itself in the reef. It's taken up by corals in addition to calcium as calcium carbonate. In other words, be sure you're dosing both alkalinity and calcium in proper proportions. I agree with seapug that using plain baking soda is a much more cost effective method and will yield the same result.

Dosing pump for alkalinity and magnesium. Calcium and alkalinity via reactor. Same for both tanks.
