All Zoas arent opening up!

Have noticed all my zoas arent opening up on the colony. Also noticed white looking things around each polp and on the rock, looks like grains of salt. Anyone have any idea what this is? All param are good and other colonies along with other corals and fish are doing great. Ill try and get a pic but until then some help or ideas would be great.

goto to Zoaid.com and check out predators. Might have some pics there that resemble what your looking for. They could be nudi's (nudibrancs) spelling may be off on that.

Thanks for your response, I looked at the possible causes and they dont seem like mine. My Zoas look like there are tiny white eggs but not in the pattern of the nudi, just more like grains of salt everywhere, also I saw that the Asteria Starfish was a predator, I dont have any Asteria Starfish on the colony but I did notice 2 spaghetti starfish? Not sure of the name very small maybe as big as a quarter or nickel and very skinny legs, almost like a bluish white in color, could this pe the culprit in irritating the polyps?

A picture is worth, well...
If they are Palythoa, then it very well may be sand.
Otherwise, it could be the pox.

I've had mine for almost 10 years now, I am ready for something else. Yet, it has always been a great tank. Not good for taking pictures, but it always gave an awesome optical illusion of being deep.

It looks like the pipefish is your culprit.
Does it always sit on your zoas like that?

I can sorta see the white pox on some of the polyps on the first pic... the link ReefJunkie posted is a great read...

actually it was only there b/c the polyps weren't out, but usually is never one to bother any corals. The link posted has been a great help and good read I appreciate it.

I hear you on the taking pix thing, curved glass is hard.

GREAT NEWS, AFTER ABOUT 2 WEEKS OF NOT OPENING UP THE COLONY JUST GRAUDUALLY STARTED TO COME BACK TO LIFE!!! THEY ARE BACK TO NORMAL NOW AND LOOK GREAT HERE ARE SOME PIX, LOOK AT THE ONES FIRST POSTED TO COMPARE IF YOU LIKE, I KNOW THESE PIX ARE CRAP, THEY WERE USED TO GIVE A GENERAL IDEA.
