Allowable Alk/Ca Fluctuations

Hey everyone,

What is considered a normal alk and calcium swing within a 12-24 hour period which would not affect any sps corals? I know it shouldnt swing at all... but lets be reasonable...

I have no doubt that when i have a growth spurt my alk can drop 1dkh a day and calcium 20ppm. Its a hard question to answer, if it moved within the healthy levels then i dont think a drop from or increase of 400-460ppm or 10 - 7 dkh would hurt anything to bad, but i wouldn't advise it.
