Allowing Apex SMS Text alerts when iPhone is in Do Not Distrub or Silent Mode?

I've been looking for a way to receive my Apex's text message alerts while my iPhone is either in Do Not Disturb mode (settings > notifications > do not disturb on the iPhone 4) or when I activate the "silent switch" on the left side of the phone.

I always enable one of these two modes before I go to sleep so that I'm not awoken by an annoying phone call or text message - it would however be nice to be woken up by an Apex alert (if a heater doesn't kick on and my temp drops, etc)

I've tried adding my Apex text alert contact to my Favorites list (and then changing the Do Not Disturb settings on the iPhone to allow Favorites) but unfortunately this didn't do the trick. If I understand correctly, essentially all this is is adding my GMX email address to my favorites list.

Any one have any ideas? I have an iPhone 4 and it's not jailbroken... if that matters. Thanks.

AFAIK, the iOS 6 DND feature with Favorites override only applies to phone calls.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - please pardon my brevity.

Yeah, SMS texts from my Favorites list don't override like a phone call does. Hoping to find a solution... maybe there's a third party app, etc.

Sorry to bump an old post but did you or anyone else find a solution for this?

There has to be a way to receive alerts or notifications of some sort from favorites when in 'do not disturb'.

Thanks

Bob
