not sure what it is. its green and can grow long in bushes. its not course at all its kinda slimy and I can pluck most of it by hand. or at least I could if it was not everywhere.

do more water changes, 5g weekly. dont add any of the packaging water from the frozen shrimp, and what ever shrimp arent eaten, siphon out. dont let that sunlight hit the tank (if you have clean water i dont think it should matter though?). add macro algae to your sump and keep it lit 24/7

the smaller that tank, the quiker parameter shifts happen. with a 30g tank, and especially a 10g, you should deffinatly be changig water more than once a month!

I rinse out my frozen shrimp in a net with a squirt bottle of RO water. It contains all kinds of phosphates and junk. Get a phosban reactor, Two Little Fishes brand and a small powerhead, like they said and GFO pellets from bulkreefsupply.com. I was in the same boat as you are until I did those two things.
