Alpha 170 VS Alpha 200

I am setting up a 150 gallon total volume tank and sump. I am primarily keeping SPS and LPS along with fish. I was wondering if should go with the 170 or 200 model? I have heard the 200 model would be too much for my system? I don't think I am going to upgrade any time soon, but if the 200 could work efficiently on my 150 gallon system, then I will go with that model, but if it is not going to work well, then I will go with the 170

I honestly think you would be fine either way. If it's going to be a little heavier load then I would go with the Alpha 200. If it will just be a moderate load then the 170 would be just fine.

Jeff, I'm using the 200 on a system about the same total volume as yours and it is working great. I have 18 fish including three tangs. I plan to add about ten to the frag tank for nutrients in the next couple weeks. I feed about 4-6 cubes of hikari mysis a day. This skimmer handles it very well.
