Alt uses of TMPCC?

Has anyone tried using TMPCC for treating corals other than acros? I was wondering if it could be an all purpose med for zoas, also. I'm sure i can find some guinea pigs, but was wondering if anyone had already tried.

Well, things like zoos and softies can generally be freshwater dipped.

Which is cheaper, and kills just as much.

I was going to pick some TMPCC up for SPS pre-treatment, but can anyone comment on how it is different from Lugol's iodine (aside from the price)? Is there medication in TMPCC? I've found very little information on this; even Tropic-marin's site only says that it is an "iodine preparation."

They probably aren't going to disclose what is in it because then they wouldn't be able to justify the rediculously high price they charge for the product.:D I'm guessing the main active ingredient is iodine. There might also be a couple other things in it that could probably be purchased over the counter for fairly cheap.

I read some promo material from the box and a TM website and I recall it being advertised simply as a pH stabalized Iodine dip. I would think Warner Marine Lugals plus, it is also pH stabalized, should be pretty close.

Best Wishes,
Barry

It is different and in my opinion works very well. I don't know all the differences, just what I have been told and who know what is true.

It is a strong iodine solution like lugos, but it is supposed to have some of the active ingredients in lamvesol as well. I have used the TMPCC at 3x the dose with no ill effect and it does kill red bugs, sea spiders, and AEFW. At 4x the dose I got some bleaching but corals all lived.

Lugos in the past would bleach acros at doses this strong or even close. I killed many acros in lugos and none in TMPCC. I have also had 100% success killing parasites on these newly dipped acros.
