Alternative to Cupramine for Precautionary Treatment in QT

Hey guys,

I have a Lineatus Wrasse and 5 Lyretail Anthias that have been in quarantine for about 5 weeks now.

They've been through three treatments of PraziPro and show no signs of anything.

I just hypoed the display over the course of a few months and really don't want anything getting into the tank.

I had planned on doing Cupramine for 3 weeks after PraziPro, but now it seems a bit harsh for fish showing no signs of illness.

Is there a less harsh medication that I can run after PraziPro that will treat any other diseases not yet seen?

Or should I just go ahead with the Cupramine at a low dosage?

Also have a Crosshatch Trigger Pair and 3 Flame Wrasses in quarantines as well. About to start PraziPro on them. If I could skip cupramine on them as well that would be nice. I'd like them out of QT in 5 weeks though.

So yeah... what's the best precautionary medication that is easy on the fish that aren't showing any signs of illness but will treat things PraziPro didn't? :)

BTW: Would dosing everyday with ParaGuard be easier on the fish then Cupramine? Especially wrasses?

I don't mind about the $$$ it costs to dose. Just if it's a safer alternative.

If I run ParaGuard for 4 weeks everyday, would that kill ich if present?

Also...

Would I even need to use PraziPro for flukes, if I used ParaGuard everyday for 4 weeks?

I personally do not want to subject my fish to chemicals unless absolutely necessary which is why TT is part of my quarantine protocol. Paraguard will not eradicate flukes. Prazi will and it is also much easier on the fish.

Found TTM too stressful when I tried it with a few wrasses. Just my experience :(

Seems like Paraguard is also very gentle on fish as well.

Wouldn't a 21-28 day dosage of Paraguard make sure most things present on the fish would be gone?

Then either before or after do two or 3 rounds of Prazi for flukes?

According to seachem, paraguard is very effective against flukes (especially if used as a dip). Personally, I'm running a fox face through the TTM right now and the tanks will be treated with paraguard. At the conclusion of TTM, I will do a paraguard dip and call it a day.

I agree that it is very stressful...I'm still not sure my fox face is going to survive. However, he definitely has ich, so that isn't helping.

I'm sure Seachem says wonderful things about their products. There is no scientific research proclaiming the efficacy of Paraguard on flukes.
