I note that in Aquarium Fish magazine aquarium societies can run ads for free. Is this something I can do for our club? Just lists the name of the society, when they meet, where located, etc. I'd like to include our mission statement.

It should be fine as far I would think, great idea.

Our mission statement for those that don't already know;
"To help preserve the natural reefs through the teaching of active coral propagation and proper reef keeping techniques."
