Ambergris in tank?

OK, this is one of those incredibly stupid questions you cant find an answer to on the internet. I found a small ball, tennis ball sized, of ambergris while on vacation, it matches google search images etc. It floats, waxy, pleasant smell.
Its presently floating in my salt water tank, has been for 2 months. Could this be in way shape or form bad for my tank?

If there were hitchhikers on it that you couldn't see, yes it could be bad for your tank.

Strange.. I'm not quite sure why someone would put it in their reef tank. Working out well for you? Seems to me it would contribute nutrients. Did you add any other types of sperm whale poop/vomit? /boggle
