Amblyeleotris Aurora - Aurora Goby

I tried one. It was EXTREMELY skittish, and was forever ending up in the overflow. Nothing like the randall's I had for many years.

Could just have been my particular fish though. Maybe wait for more replies. Also, they are expensive, so I'm not sure how many people have actually tried one. They wholesale for like $30-40!

Yeah, I don't see them often in the local shops. I'm just curious what kind of success people have had.

i see you're in Atlanta, Creation Reef in Woodstock has one in their large cube display. its been in there for a while and is always out. i inquired about price and they said like $35-40 for one. i'd go talk to them about theirs. i don't think they "stock" them but they could order one for you.

Hmm... where are they located? I've heard of them but never been. I wanna say they're up on the north side some where. Its a small drive just to hit SEA or Pure Reef. I'm about 30 mins south of the airport. Most of the nice shops are a bit of a drive so I tend to worry about traffic / travel time.

yeah, that's quite a drive. its on highway 92 in woodstock, take 75n to 575 exit 7. its about 30miles n of atlanta

I've had mine for years! With a pistol.

Front half hangs out all the time! Favorite gobi.

Interesting. That would agree with my observations. While randall's or yellow watchman gobies will be completely out in the open, quite far from their holes.

I had a pair for a while, they had typical watchman goby behavior, guarding their hole while the shrimp dug around. They both jumped out somehow, even though the tank was covered with eggcrate with window screen ziptied to it.

A LFS near here has two in a very large display tank (something like 10x2 footprint) with eels and large fish and they are always out and about (much more so than I would expect for a shrimp goby considering the tank they were in).
