Ammo Chips in Salt water

Does anyone use ammo chips in thier salt water reefs?

I'm not exactly sure how these chips work but they say to regenerate them by soaking them in saltwater. So imo using them in a marine environment would cause them not to work properly. Also a lot of these types of products are just porous media with a lot of surface area that promote the growth of bacteria in them that actually do the denitrification. Live rock and live sand beds are meant to do this so there would be no need for it in a reef tank. I have used this exact product in my FW tank for years but stopped because of the nitrate issue and becasue it never really did anything but cost me money.

I've not heard of anyone using them, and wouldn't have much hope for them working in seawater.

I read they dont work as others said about saltwater just my 2cents
