Ammonia in Cycling tank

Hey i am cycling my 10g micro-reef tank right now, it has some live rock/sand and a percula clown. I just ran my tests for ammonia and found the results to be quite high. I know this is supposed to happen, but is there anyway i can detoxify the ammonia without getting rid of it? I have Kent Ammonia Detox, but i can't find any information on if it eliminates ammonia or if it just neutralizes its toxicity. Has anyone used this supplement or know of one which will make ammonia less harmful?

do a 50% water change, your percula should not be in there you know?
Add detox to help, return the clown if possible

In my own experiences I have found these detox solutions to be of little help. Problem is by the time you noticed high ammonia you have probably already started getting higher nitrite levels also.

I would do a 20% water change every other day for the next 10 days to lower the ammonia and nitrite levels and hopefully your clown will survive, and yes you should not have been cycling a tank with a clownfish. While they are some of the more hardy fish in the hobby, they can only take so much abuse.

Good luck and slow down! Use a quarantine tank.
