I have a nanocube, water volume is probably 8-9 effective (12g tank with live rock.) I have trace levels of phosphate and bought some Phosban. I would like to mix Phosban and GAC in a filter bag, but i'm not sure how much to start with and if this is an appropriate method or if I should use seperate media bags. It gives a warning that too high of flow will grind to powder and cloud the tank. How high are we talking here? I want to put this in the first chamber of my filter where it would contact all water that goes through the system. I don't think this is terribly high flow, though. I am running two pumps, one MJ600 & one MJ900 for an effective maximum flow of 390gph (in reality, this is probably not reached.)
So, can the media be mixed in one bag? If so, in order to prevent shock to the corals, how much of each should I start with for 8g of water? (measurements in tbsp or cups would be helpful, I don't have a balance here.)
Thank you
Angela
