Amount of sand needed for 24 sq ft of tank about 1" deep

I would recommend getting regular sand and then seeding it (this is probably an obvious statement). Getting 300 lbs of live sand in the bag would be MAJORLY expensive. What if you went with Southdown sand or something like that? You could always make a trip to the coast too, just make sure to put me in your suitcase before you leave!

E.S.V. oolitic sand works well...not cheap, but it is nice, white sand.

white play sand at Lowes $2 for 50lbs. That is what I use

They had some very white sand at the entrance of Lowe's up there Clark if you decide to go with a regular type sand or a mix.
