Do amphipods eat copepods i am thinking of rearing them together in the same breeding tank would this work ?

I would think there'd be predation on the copepodites for sure. Depends on species mix, but any commercial growing of them, is a mono culture for a reason :D

I dont think so as they both co-exist in my sump, I would think they eat much smaller food but not sure.

copepods are definitely algae eaters. The amphipods are bigger for some reason of nature, possibly protein. ;)

That is not to say their isn't predation, but rather, they're surviving the predation in a larger system. Small culturing systems have a much high occurance of predation, exspecially in co-cultures.

Copepodites are predated upon by the adult copepods in numerous species, so they'll eat meat for sure :D
