Hey everyone I neeed some advice,

I have a tricinctus clownfish that has been going through QT for the last 6 weeks and everything was going good. It seems that in the last few days its has stopped eating, looks skinny, and it breathing rather fast.

Like I said, it has been in QT for 6 weeks with no additions to the QT tank. I am thinking its a internal parasite or maybe a bacterial infection. What do you think and could you recommend a good medication to help.

Thanks in advance
Dave

What are the water parameters? Any other external signs? Many illnesses will cause fish go off feed and become emaciated. However, the most telltale symptom appears to the rapid breathing. Suggests either your water is off, or possibly a parasitic infection stressing the gills.

At this late stage in the quarantine process, the problem would most likely be either a food problem or a water quality problem. I'm assuming you have not added any new specimen to the QT during those 6 weeks.

Perform a large water change; check all water parameters closely and accurately, using fresh test kits. Check your source water.

Entice the fish to eat, even if it isn't the proper/best food to provide it.
