An embarrassment of riches.

Picked up some new additions to my collection & I'm not even sure what all the names are so I'm relying on those who have "been there, done that" to possibly identify a few of these.

If you even THINK you know what it is but aren't 100% sure, post it anyways. Anything helps.

I've numbered each coral to make it easier to work with. If you see a # twice, it's either a differently angled picture of the coral or it's the exact same coral in a different frag plug or rock.

Note: I know #15 is a sea star, I just wanted to know if anyone knew what kind.

Note 2: if you see something you've been looking for & can't seem to grab it - lets talk (PM).

This is NOT a sale thread, it's an ID thread. But I also believe in helping out those who pitch in.

#1 no clue??
#2 Acropora austera
#3 Stylophora pistillata
#4 Elegance
#6 Acropora latistella
#7 Acropora kimbeensis
#8 Acropora monticulosa
#9 Acropora Vaughani
#10 Acropora rosaria

Do not take any of this to the bank, I'm in no way an expert. Just thought i would give it a shot.

And I thank you very much for trying.

I have no idea what any of them are except I do know that #4 is *not* an elegance. I wish it was.

Thanks again. You've given me something to start with!

do you have any other pictures of #4? Does it have a skeleton or is it a soft coral? I would like some others to chime in, i have something similar to #2 and would like a positive ID for species. I'm most confident about #8, i just took a shot at the others.

1. There is nothing to go by except the few radial corallites seen. There are hundreds of possibilities. This one has a lot of growing to do.
2. Maybe A. divaricata. This one is also too small to even be 25% sure. http://coral.aims.gov.au/speciesPages/species_metadata/0024/view#
3.Hard to say by just the side of a branch. Maybe S. pistillata http://coral.aims.gov.au/speciesPages/species_metadata/0345/view#
4. Is Hydnophora, maybe exesa. http://coral.aims.gov.au/speciesPages/species_metadata/0215/view#
5. No five?
6. Maybe A. convexa if it keeps growing upward like it is. http://coral.aims.gov.au/speciesPages/species_metadata/0820/view#
7. Maybe A. aceleus. Not much to go by there, needs to grow out more. http://coral.aims.gov.au/speciesPages/species_metadata/0006/view#
8. Could be Acropora cophodactyla. http://coral.aims.gov.au/speciesPages/species_metadata/0826/view#
9. and 10. are too small to even guess. There are barely corallites to compare to anything. Those will also have to grow out some.

In this picture the coral look like it might have a red bug on it, but it is still tough to guess on the species of Acropora.

11. Might be Acropora horrida. http://coral.aims.gov.au/speciesPages/species_metadata/0034/view#
12. Might be A. loripes. http://coral.aims.gov.au/speciesPages/species_metadata/0042/view#
